Why are female Artists discriminated against ? - 2
An interesting article in The Australian Financial Review
discusses 7 Myths that prevent women from getting a fair go in the workplace.
The same 7 Myths can be applied to Women Artists,
who aspire to the excessively male dominated upper echolons of the Art world .
However, discrimination against female Artists
tends to be much more insidious and covert, than what happens in the Workplace. For example, the numbers of women on corporate boards is monitored closely, but when was the last time you saw an article on the numbers of women in the Top 100 Artists.
This topic is rarely addressed in any article
because there is a strong Myth of female equailty in the Art world .
Women Artists are denied entry in most cases to the $1+ million Art Sale Club .
